Your journal, notes, ratings, cellar, grape index and pairing tools are free. AI label scans and kept photos are optional extras that cost us to run, so you can enjoy your personal wine journal without them. If you do use those extras, we charge a small pre-paid credit fee to cover the cost.

Palate is free to use by itself — your journal, notes, cellar, grape index and pairing tools need no purchase. The 20 credits are a free taste of the optional AI-assisted features: label scans, kept photos, spoken readings, AI note drafts and the sommelier assessment. If you run out, topping up is entirely up to you. £3.99 adds 250, and because we price credits close to cost, a single small pack can cover a light user for years.
